Allocations toolkit
8 May 2012Following the closure of the amendment of allocations consultation recently, and the news that the date by which a tenancy strategy needs to be in place has been brought forward to January 2013 (from April 2013), here is a toolkit drafted by HQN in 2011 at the time when tenancy strategy reviews were high on the agenda for many providers.

This toolkit will be useful to all housing providers when reviewing their allocations policy. -

Leaseholders and staffing levels (12-03-12)
Q We are reviewing our leaseholder service. We have around 430 leaseholders. Presently a single member of staff deals with all aspects of the service. The service is a mixture of strengths and weaknesses. We do well around access to the service and consultations but less well with service charge collection and recharges. We think the service maybe under staffed. What sort of staff/leaseholder ratios do other members have? Does anyone outsource the service and if so how successful is this? Are there any consortiums of RP's providing the service for a number of landlords? ThanksDawson Noone, City West HT
